disturbing news

Emails from Cairo have brought disturbing news. It seems the Egyptians are not letting anyone cross the border into Gaza. I'd worried about the possibility, but kept pushing it out of my thoughts.
Felice, our group's organizer, is in Cairo and received word that the police have told the bus company we were using to travel from Cairo to the Rafa Crossing they are no longer to take any foreigners there.
A group of 120 Europeans (including 12 MPs of the EU) has been turned away...they are carrying medical supplies.
A group of Canadian Doctors who visited before and are returning to conduct follow up visits have been denied entry. They are on a hunger strike at the border crossing.
Egypt is preparing for Obama's visit (June 4, I think) Guess they are focusing on that
It doesn't look good. This is so disappointing.
Felice has asked that we contact the office of our Congressperson and appeal for help. If anyone would like to make an appeal to their Representative on my behalf, get in touch and I'll give you more details.
It really doesn't look good.
